Electric / Manual 4WD

Hi, I have a 92 Ford Explorer 4WD. (4 Door, Auto)

Electric Engagement. The electric motor is shot. (I opened it to see)

I was wondering if I can install a manual selector in its place. I am hoping it would be fairly simple (I know I would have to cut a hole in the floor, perhaps drill some holes, and odds are weld a few little mounts or what ever.)

I dont feel like going to a manual lever if I have to basically fabricate it from scratch.

I believe there have been some postings in here where some people have converted to manual. You might have to go through here and look, starting with mid December.
