Speaker Wiring

I got a 1991 240SX coupe recently, and I finially got my CD player installed for it, and replaced the degraded and blown stock speakers, but sound refuses to come through any of the speakers,:banghead: I heard that the "mini amps" which come on these cars have to be bypassed. Does anyone know of a site, or know of what wires go to which speakers, etc. cauz I don't feel like tearing out interior panels to follow the wiring, if at all possible.

sometimes the adapter you purchased for the connection between the wiring and head unit is off. There are times when some wires (most of the time... the black ground wire) is in the wrong slot. Simply remove it and ground it someplace else. That method worked for my 93.

if you had it installed someplace just remove the center panel and unscrew the bracket the holds the head unit in place. Then pull it out and look for the adapter in the back.

just yank all wiring and amp. and re-wire up the car. be sure to use monster cable ;-)

I don't think it's my ground wire... cauz the CD player itself works fine... just no sound comming out of the speakers...I tried fading it to all 4 corners and no sound... no idea, the 'mini' amps is my only guess... but the fuse isn't blown... figuring it may have deteriated due to it not being used... also my antena works.. just again no sound.

you may want to look for a wire that is lose. behind the stereo. if that's not it then you may have to get a "re-wire" done at you local car audio place. That's what we did at the Good Guys! (car audio) whenever someone had a stock amp.

that's probably what I'll need... how much did that cost you? I'm kinda tight on cash... need to get my synconizers for 2nd gear fixed still.. but ya..
