On the road todat i saw a civic (the kind in need for speed underground 1) with a lot of mods. the muffler tip was about 4-5 inches llong and the bumpers are about 3-4 inches off the ground. the hood curved to the winshield (don't know what type) . Nismo (or seemes like it) break pads, and dark black window tint. the color was blue and had a few white stripe vinls . the rims were star-shaped chrome. The spoiler was about a foot tall from the trunk. and it sounded so sweet when it acelerated.

your average, typical ricer my friend

When I finish fixing the exterior to my holden up, I'll have the best looking VS commodore in town, I don't need any of that spoiler, tint, and stipe shit, just the lower body kit, and I'm done.

Plus, I don't need to look like I have a powerful car, I already do! woo!

Me neither. Why do people mutilate civics? I mean, it's a freakin economy car, not the Racer of the night. Why?

yea i agree on the whole ricer civic not racer of the night but I know some people that have that same v4 2.2L engine and pulling 800 hp out of it. that is some insane stuff to see a good civic packing some real power.

i look at it as, u have a nice car when the people that dont know much about cars, look at ur car and say "damnnnn nice looking car" and you are still getting like 30-35 miles per gallon!!! its just that the people that own some of these half way nice looking civics try to race, now that is whats wrongggg!!!! totally wronnnngggggggg!!!!!

Electronix_etc
04-10-2005, 06:35 PM
like i got an I4 prelude supercharged, and i bet i can put up a good fignt and probably beat most of the mustangs and corvettes on the road that are my year(1996) because half of the 1996 mustangs and corvettes arent even on the road anymore!!!! they dont last too long man!!! they suckkkk and they are slowwww, they waste too much gas to get to the 250 horses our of the 4.0V6's and 4.5 V8's when i can pull out 250 horses naturally aspirated 2.2 litre I4 VTEC engine by putting very few bolt ons and still get 30 miles per gallon commuting!!!! Naw u tell me which is the better deal??

Well make up your damn mind. You can't be SC'd and NA all at the same time and I have a VERY hard time believing you have 250hp out of a NA 2.2L. And for god sakes STOP BRINGING UP OLD FUCKING THREADS.

naah not that hard you take an H22a that comes as a 2.2 I4 engine that comes 195 horses, you throw on some Intake, Headers and Exhaust, Pulleys, Cam shafts(DOHC), Cam gears, fuel injectors, Fuel pump, and if you count atleast 5 horses average for each of those, thats atleast 80 horses to the fly added to the stock horses, then you add in a 50 shot Bottle, and you got a N/A 2.2 litre that makes more than 300 horses to the fly. PROOVED YOU WRONG HUH!!!
Hey u know sumthing? i used to hae a 1993 rolla too, and i remember my screen name bein the same thing on some website, i forgot what it was, i think it was a forum too.

^^ you are a moron.

just adding on mods and going "that's 5 hp each one, so that's 80 hp" is retarded. first of all, if that logic is correct, then it would be 40 HP not 80 (since you listed 8 mods, and 8*5=40) and unless you go to the dyno, your numbers are just an estimate.

Whats is even funnier, is those 8 mods you listed, how much money does it cost for that? I can buy a $15 boost controller for my car and that will give me an extra 50 horsepower (-25% for drivetrain loss however)

By the way, show me some proof of this 800 HP civic with a dyno sheet.

i said HP to the fly, not to the wheels, i know to the wheels is only like 2-3 horses for each of the mods... and they got the new RSX I4 engine with 210 horses stock, with all them mods, ur tellin me u cant get it to 250 to the flywheel??? i have no clue on what basis you are argueing with.

93rollaracer
04-12-2005, 09:47 PM
Gateway is arguing the fact that bolt-ons generally do not give you an extra 5HP each. Unless you have a dyno to prove it, I'm with him on this one.

I'm arguing the fact that if you're running a nitrous system, you're not N/A. So your argument that running a nitrous kit with bolt-ons gives you an N/A car is wrong.

Is that at the wheels?

Not bad, but my probe wit da intake makes way more than that. I made the intake out of NASA material in my garage. My brother chuck yeager has races with me and loses. I own all :smokin:

BTW: alot of mods will actually cause you to lose power if you don't tune the car to take advantage of them (watch horsepower tv sometime)

210 stock, that means the factory already put the mods on so you don't have to.

If you have 210bhp stock, you give me the dyno sheet that says at the flywheel and we might shutup. But if you're pulling all your figured from various websites, you might be suprised they're talking about 5hp per mod engine ouput, which will be less than 2.5hp per mod.

fully sick, my engin pulls 600hp, even my stickars give me about 6hp TO THA FLYWHEELE BRO, its fully sick as. my exhaust tip is 4ft in diameter and gives me 50hp. its fully sick mate.

In the TV comercial, the company says its got 210 horses. I dont think they can lie on National TV. They have to proove it if they advertise it, they just dont find u important enough to proove it to YOU cuz they dont give a FLYING FU(K what u got to say for it...

Why are you insulting me, I was pointing out the fact that the manufacturers's figures of power are engine output, some do at the fly, but not often. The figure is always higher, but the fact is they boast one figure, you put that on a dyno sheet and get 30-40kw less than what the company has boasted, because they're claming a figure of engine output, it's common sense.

lamehonda

he is right, dyno numbers are almost always less than stated.

ya but how many mpg does it get now, :P and correct me if I am wrong but while thoes arent hard mods they aint exactly easy for all of them , or you would see a hella lot more "300hp" hondas out there

So yeah thats only 8 mods, and your mathematical genius would set that to 40 hp. Added to 195 would make 235. Add a 50 shot, and that makes 285. 285<300. PrOOved you wrong huh?

also.. on an I4.. you add A headeR.

lamehonda
04-16-2005, 12:19 PM
All of those mods would cost a whole lot of money. You could save a bit of it by using a 100 shot instead of a 50.

I don't think that you would be any more likely to drop your transmission with nitrous than the other mods mentioned as long as you were careful when you were spraying.

this can all b ended by stating the facts. civics are sucky ricers, economy cars, and grocery getter wanna b's(how sad is that)

there are a few civics that rape but when i say a few i mean like race cars. its just not possible to make a naturally aspirated engine thats smaller than the bottle from a soda u buy from your local pizza place. thats why u go twin turbo like a 1990 300zx or 98 supra to name 2 and add smart useful mods not things like "headers on a turbo car"** or "down pipes on a N/A" **

** not quoting anyone in specific on this thread, those are things ive heard ppl say

Try not to bring up old threads. To comment on your post, if you have money or the resources, anything is possible. If someone wants to build up a four cylinder, then let them. Not everyone likes the same thing. Personally, I like the challenge of taking a car from almost nothing to being an impressive show of hard work and effort.
