Which way is off?

1993 RX7. I cannot loosen the lock bolt off the front of the eccentric shaft that the spring and pellet sit behind. The bolt also holds the hub on that a pulley attaches to. Does the bolt turn CCW or CW. I am using a 1/2 inch Air Gun with a 19mm socket. Also tried a breaker bar. Seems its on mighty tight! I am stuck at this point on my rebuild. Thanks!!

try harder, lol

Now that I know which way to turn it, I will try again. I was trying to go CCW most of the time! Now I know better!

Is the motor in the car? did you support the clutch assy? If not, congrats.. Your Torrington bearing just fell..

No J-Rat, the motor is out and down to the bare block on my work bench. Believe it or not every thing has been pretty smooth up until this point. We are ready to start tearing the motor down for the rebuild!

Cool! I hate to hear when people take that bolt off and the T-Bearing drops!

Just an update on getting the lock bolt off the front of the eccentric shaft. After beating my brains out trying to get it off in the clockwise direction as I was told by someone who I thought knew what they were talking about. IT IS NOT CLOCKWISE! In the future if anyone is taking it off, please go counter clockwise, it works much better. It might be tough, but once your going in the right direction and give it all you have, it will break loose! Goes to show you, don't believe everything you read, ask a few more people. I learned the hard way.
