I Was Thinking Of Buying This Car. Was Wondering If Anyone Could Help Me By Telling Me How They Feel About The 3.4 Lt Motor. Thanks Doris

Those engines can be lots of trouble. Head gaskets, intake leaks, rear main oil seal leakage, alternator failure. All very expensive repairs and needed at some point. (Try to find that alternator) Ours was a 94, loved the car, but it just wore out it's welcome. If that had the standard engine I'd say buy it, but not with the DOHC motor.

The alternator is an easy parts store find for $60, but I agree on the overall reliability of the 3.4. I owned two and both lasted well over 100k, but no without some leaks, noises, and struggles.

Didn't make that very clear did I? Sourcing the alternator is not hard. Finding it on the car is a different story. Have to drop the front frame to get access, even then it's a near impossible chore to change, and they do overheat and fail. Ours went bad at 26K miles, warranty was out due to age. Again, really a nice car that we liked a lot, but not with that powerplant.

Ah, gotcha. I agree. I ran out of knuckles to bust while changing the rear spark plugs too :)
