I bought a 93 Integra GS a couple of months ago. Then after about a couple of weeks I installed an AEM Cold Air. Then while I was sitting in traffic the car just quit on me. I noticed that every once in a while when I sat at idle that the RPM's would drop down to like 200 then back up to 700. Then after a while dip back down again. So the starter would crank the engine over but it wouldn't fire. Anyway, long story short, took it to one guy...he told me the ECM was bad...towed it home and for some reason the car started and ran for 3 days..then did the same thing..took it to another mechanic and he told me the distributor was bad. I had already ran the distributor checks as per the Acura shop manual I got when I bought the car (the manual the acura mech's use). According to that book everything checked good, the coil, ICM and wires. I noticed that I wasn't getting any arching when I bumped the car over, but the dist. still checked good. I don't want to take the chance and buy a new dist. and not fix the problem...that's like 227 bucks. ANY SUGGESTIONS?!?!?! I'd appreciated it!

So after your intake install, the idle started surging? and then the car died...have you tried putting your stock intake back in and reseting the ECU? Sounds more like a air/fuel ratio sensor related issue. What do you mean you weren't getting any arching, from the plug wire to a ground?

Well, I had a similar problem, I thought it could have been my intake too, so I pulled out my intake and put in Quick start into the chamber and it worked very fast. When I took it to the mechanic, the problem was with the Coolent Sensor. I had to replace that for like $ 60 CDN. After never had problems starting again. Try it, it my work.
