engine life?

was thinking of getting a 91 civic hb at a decent price, but it's got 250k on it (155mi).

can i realistically run it for a couple years, or should i not even bother?

There are people on here that have well over 200k miles on their civics. I don't see why it can't as long as you change oil regularly and don't beat the shit out of it.

treated well, it'll run 300k-350k without many probs, so i hear

i wouldn't run a turbo or anything on it tho! it's too old, and the seals inside are probably all worn. I wanted to go turbo D but seriously thinking about a B, more power out of the box

Mine has been beat up really bad and it still runs OK with 188k on the engine. The previous owner told me that he used to street race it all the time. When I got the car, almost all the gears grinded at all rpms, so I just put in a newer transmission, but the engine is still original.

It's a CRX, D16A6 with exhaust. I just use it as a daily driver.

300k+ and still going... I've got bad rings on two cylinders, but you honestly wouldn't know it. I only drive it to & from work, so it doesn't burn much oil, and it doesn't smoke...
