95 PA Blower Issues

At the risk of being redundant I'm posting my problem. I've read thru the posts and while there are similarities no exact match for my issue.

My son's 95 PA Ultra blower failed to shut off with the ignition off. Since it was night and raining we simply pulled the battery cable till we could check it out. Before I had a chance to troubleshoot in deatil the blower stopped completely.

So now I am really confused. I just checked the voltage (ignition off) at the blower connector and found battery voltage(aprox 12vdc), which indicates a high-speed fan setting, yet the fan is not blowing. Playing with the fan speed controls I can get a lower reading (aprox 1.3vdc) but no gradients in between.

I can break the fan circuit by pulling the green 30a fuse in the engine compartment, but none of the relays have an impact on the voltage at the motor connector when removed. There is only 1 relay with 5 wires - its colors dont match my Haynes or the descriptions found here. Removing it had no effect.

I suspect I have 2 problems to solve:
1-why the fan doesnt operate with the high speed voltage present
2-why it wouldn't shut off in the first place

Your advice and comments are welcome.

The blower control module applies the voltage to the blower motor, following a command from the programmer. It is common for them to fail, either on/off.

i now have exactly same situation on 93 PA except my voltage at wire that plugs to motor seems to rise as fan speed is lowered, rises some more when you cut heater off and some more when you cut ignition switch off. Yea I know it sounds crazy but it does. PLease post a reply when you figure yours out. thanks longjohn

Couldn't figure itout -and the experts here didnt post any replies - so I ended up taking it to the dealer. $550 later I have a new blower motor & blower control module(BCM).
There are 5 parts to ck out: Fan relay, Hi Speed relay, BCM, motor, and HVAC console control.

The relays are cheap and easy to replace.
The BCM is located under the hood behind the relay center - virtually invisible.
The blower motor is - well- where its at will make it a challenge.

Good luck.

OK thanks That give me somewhere to start. My problem is getting started. I may end up at dealer too.

Hey, I'm brand new to the forum, but appears this is a widespread problem with PAs cause I'm having exactly the same problem with my 94 Ultra. First it wouldn't cut off & now it won't work at all. I know my motor works; I'm not getting any voltage to it. I don't want to replace the resistors unless I'm sure they're the problem, cause I can get them from NAPA but they're pricey. The other auto parts stores around here don't carry them at all. My main problem is that my Haynes manual doesn't show a schematic for this circuit at all, and one that I found online is supposed to be for my model but obviously is not when you compare it to what's on the car. None of the voltage readings I'm getting at the relays or resistors seem to make any sense for operating the blower. Do any of you know where I can find the correct schematic for this circuit? I'm certain that with the proper diagram this problem can be diagnosed and corrected.

bolthead, on my 93 pa ultra I just found 1 trmpature control module. It's under the relays and fuses under hood.Sits down in air duct and controls speed of fan. That was my problem. At Advanceauto parts they ordered for $126 including tax. you can go online under Advance and order few bucks cheaper. let me know. If you have time and energy you might find one at junk yard for under $25. Friend of mine did on caddy for $10 in AL. Good luck
