does anyone have any suggestions of what I can check to find out why my heater blows cool air?

Whenever I pull my climate controls out, the little cable under behind the center console, under the dash comes loose off the heater control arm and just moves freely back and forth. Look under there and move the temperature knob back and forth and if you see the little metal cable moving back and forth with out being grabbed on anything. If so, move the cable and hook it back up to the heater control arm.

That cable btw hooks up to a little box and controll arm in the middle of the firewall right behind the center console on the dash. move the knob and check to see if thats moving also. also check the valve in the engine compartment. its located on the left side if you looking at the front of the car on top of a small black radiator hose. if both move it might be your heater core. mine wouldent heat and the vavle in the engine compartment moved but the black cable on the climate controlls broke and wouldent let the hot air into my car. Good luck. Its freezing outside.
P.S ill go snap a quick pic and post them here in a min.

If its the heater core, have fun replacing it.

i took a couple of shots of the valve that I belive you are talking about. If I need a new heater core what do you think of one from a junk yard?

Then if everything, linkage wise is working, looks like your gonna need a new heater core.
