Cops just found my truck, had been missing for ~6wk.

There's a chance that the doors weren't locked but what I can't figure is how they took it as no damage to the column.

The keys definitely were not in it, still on my key ring.

Not looking for hints how, but has anyone heard of this. I'm getting paranoid that the guy I bought it from (5 years ago) might be jerking me.

On the older GM vehicles the ignition locks get so worn that many do not even need a key to turn the the ingition. You may not even realize how worn the cylinder is if you always just use the key. Try to turn the lock with out the key a few times and see if it turns. If so, time for a new lock.

if you want cheep fix you can get a colum box lock from miltary surplus it was made for gm trucks it puts a pad lock over the key switch or put a batery disconect in it and last but not least a line lock from summit it uses a soda machine type of key you push the brake pedal down turn the key and thre you go brakes are locked and cretienlt is right
