Trd light Flashing?

I am thinking about buying a 2000 tacoma excab 4x4 trd package. I test drove it and noticed the rear locker trd light flashes when trying to engage it in 4 low. Is this normal or is something wrong? I didn't have a chance to look at the manual so I don't know if this is what it is suppossed to do. Is there any way to easily tell whether or not the rear locker is engaged?

That is what is supposed to happen. What that means is that the locker is not engaged. I own a prerunner so I dont know if it will engage in 4 low. But you have to be at a complete stop to engage it. when it engages, the light will stop blinking.

paulmeister is correct... however if you put the truck in 4WD low, came to a stop, turned on the locker and the locker light continues to flash after starting and stopping - it may be having trouble engaging.
