Gear slipping

Fiero not running so hot....I have an 86 GT automatic...I first noticed the problem after I had the engine replaced, when I came to a stop the car would slip into neutral than go back into gear after about a second. It also slipped when I would turn a corner hard....Then it started having a hard time shifting into 3rd, then reverse, now it will hardly leave first. It will shift to second and third but if I give it much gas at all it just seems to go back to 1st...!!!??? :banghead:
Its confusing me and I love the car, I want to get it running again...and I have a feeling I need a new tranny....
Thanx

Not to be a wise ass or anything, but have you checked the fluid level? I've seen a number of TH125s act like that when they were low.
Also, be sure whatever "kickdown" mechanism the car has is properly adjusted.
If you do need to have the trans rebuilt, don't fall for any "It's a Fiero, and those transmissions are special" crap. It's a TH125, just like the Citation, Cavelier, etc. The R&R? Another story. Fiero is not an easy car to work on, and the repair costs reflect that.

yeah like mr.p-body said if your fluid gets really low it will slip like that. especially in sharp turns. all th125's ive seen will do this.
