Im running a DSL modem by SBC Yahoo (stream5100). Its been working fine, untill yesterday. I reseted the modem, Turned it off and still no solution. The Power & DSL light is on, but It dosent detect the ethernet connection, which wont connect me to the net. Any help? Could it be a faluty Cat5? :banghead:

Well, that depends, are you getting link or not? If not then I would check the cables first, then I would check the networking card drivers, and then I would suspect the networking card or the ethernet port on the modem itself. Also, there could be a setting in the modem that you need to change. Try giving SBC a call if all else fails.

Change PCI slots on your motherboard too.

Cable modems are external ones. At least the ones I've seen. Also, is it going striaght to your computer or a router? If there'a router, try resetting that too. Are you able to access the web configuration of the modem?

I seen one for 5 buks, but then I thought of the quality over quantity. I ended up getting the Linksys card. ($25 buks)
