Thanks to everyone who helped with the ECM fuse popping. It was discovered that the ECM was totally fried.... when I took it out of the truck it smelled badly ... electrical smell. After opening it I discovered it was fried. Replaced and works well... not excellent.
I am getting an error code.... 44. On the '89 K2500 are there 2 oxygen sensors and will replacing the sensors fix the problem? or should it be taken to a mechanic to adjust for the lean fuel mixture. Also, exactly where is the sensor? on the exhaust manifold?
I have gotten to this point without a mechanic's invoice.... would like to finish without one (no offense to the mechanics out there... just a little borke from the holidays)
Also, truck feels like it is misfiring.... I did change plugs, wires, cap & rotor. Can someone point out a place to get the correct fireing order...
Thanks!

Code 44 could be a bad 02 sensor or you are really running lean (vacuum leak can cause a lean condition). If the 02 sensor (my 90 K1500 only has one 02 so I am not sure how many you have) has not been replaced recently, it can't hurt to replace it. Mine is on the driver's side exhaust manifold.
Firing order is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2

ECM controls the air-fuel mixture by shortening or lenghthening the injector duration. My 90 K1500 only has 1 oxygen sensor and its in the back of the driver side exhaust manifold. Don't know where the second sensor would be on K2500 unless theres a second one in the other manifold. Replacing the sensor will more than likely take care of the problem. Did the replacement ECM and PROM match the ones you replaced? Don't have my Haynes here, but the firing order is on the intake manifold.
