Global Warming

Hi everybody,

Ok, so I had an idea of what's causing global warming...of course I don't know if it's right but it's an idea....If you think about it, it seems the government does not care very much about the subject (from what it seems anyways)....But, if you look at how a microwave oven works it uses radio waves to heat, now if you think of the atmosphere as a microwave just think about everything out there broadcasting radio waves. I work with electronics alot, and I've noticed how bad reception is for car remote starters in my area. Now, I put one in about 30 miles away (in the country) from a large city and the range was awesome-basically 10 blocks compared to 1 block range. You're talking cell phones, tv, radio, satellite, internet, all the police and fire trucks, city vehicals, ambulances, ...the products that use radio wave list is huge. And that could explain why the gov't. doesn't seem to care, because if it is what's causing the problem...to stop electronics is to stop alot! I'm talking no technology anymore, all wired from now on ya know....But it's just an idea...and I wanted to see what everyone else thought...But don't think I'm we todd did please... :)

There are radio waves anyways, they come from the sun and other stars. trust me, thats not what is causing global warming. Personally, I really wouldn't mind it getting a bit warmer around here, its damn cold right now! :p

Global warming is being caused by ..... get ready for it .... the SUN!

Amazingly enough, that 850,000 mile wide star sitting about 93 million miles away causes our planet to warm and allows it to cool. Temperature fluctuations over the last 5 billion years has been by several dozens of degrees. Now that the average temperature has gone up one year and down the next then back up has influenced many people that people are to blame.

Perhaps they should blame volcanoes. One large eruption will put more CO2 and Sulfur Dioxide in the air then humans have - ever. Yup, more then we've produced in the last several hundred thousand years. And, guess what? There are a few major eruptions every year. So, lets blame global warming on the Sun and its agent - volcanoes.

I'm sure everything contributes (but Yogs has science correctly on his side)

Personally, I'm cutting back on beans, doing my part to reduce my personal methane production.

Amen. The Earth's climate has flucuated naturally throughout history, and just because it's doing it now, many people apparently think it's our fault. Nature's just doing it's own thing.

Perhaps; but our lifetimes are not enough to observe the cycles reliably, and we've just started observing in the last 100 years or so. We could be just climbing out of the last ice age, or it could be warming due to carbon dioxide. We'll all likely be long dead before we find out with certainty, unless something like "The Day After Tomorrow" happens (which I thought was a bit weak)
