clicking noise in dash???

Hello all, has anyone ever noticed a clicking noise in their dash? Its not exactly a clicking its more like the sound of a vent trying to open and close. I only notice it when im going slow or at a stop. Anyone?????

I hear that sort of noise when I have my heater or AC on. I know it's just the air system doing it's thing. I don't know if it does that when it's off, I think it does. I can hear it when I'm going slow, and also when I'm outside of the car. I can hear it under the hood when it's idling. Maybe this isn't the same as your noise, or you wouldn't be concerned? How often do you hear it? I hear my Aurora's noise ever minute or so.

Is this sound more like a Turn Signal (clicking) sound?
or, your keys slightly dangling from the ignition? I heard this sound also
and looked to see if my keys were slighly dangling. But it was not the keys
since I was not moving out of the driveway yet. I noticed this just as I
was going to move back out of the driveway. I thought my turn signal was on, because (to me) it was that kinda sound. It lasted bout 5 seconds, and stopped.:smokin:

No this is more of a vent opening closing sound, a little deeper than turn signal noise. Just sounds like something is trying to either open or close somewhere in there sounds more like jagchick's problem.

I know this sounds stupid but clicking noises I've encounter was 1) The trip odometer was stuck at 000, pushing it in a few times will unclog the kink, 2) I found some wires taped together behind the radio that loosened up with cheap electrical tape, when the tape heats up the bundled wires were rubbing against the inside console. This created a "ticking" noise only when traveling as the tape surface was rubbing. Not sure if this helps but you may want to check.

I'm having this exact same problem. I never noticed it before recently though. It makes the noises even when the blower is in the OFF position. It's really weird. I'm gonna have it checked out. I don't think it's normal.

It (the clicking noise) is actually not in the dash per se, it is the turn signal switch with its' wires crossed with the brake pedal. GM routed all wiring through that bad boy and it has gone amuck on the Aurora, especially the 95 and 96. Does the clicking sound go away when you step on the brake? If the answer is yes leave it alone and do not worry about it.

Interesting....I noticed this as well. Since you mentioned the brake pedal, I will use this technique when I hear the clicking again. I hear it just as I'm getting ready to shift from park to reverse, to leave the driveway. It stops after a few seconds though, probably because I have to step on the brake to shift from park to the next gear.:cya:

Well the clicking in my dash was the horn butten on the keyless entry, i just pushed it and it quit.
