94 Ranger engine swap

So ive killed the 3.0L engine that came in my truck. i have access to a 2.9 out of an 89 ranger. Ive heard that the 2.9 is a more durable engine compaired to the 3.0L. I was wondering if anyone knew if the engine would go in the truck no problem or if id have to fab up new motor mounts
