I'm trying to fully restore an '88 CRX Si. I've got the thing down to the body with everything but the paint done. While I'm waiting for some cash to accumulate I've started getting parts cleaned a ready to strap back on. Now I'm to the gas tank and I'm stuck. All of the hoses and straps are spotless, but the tank itself is nasty. What would somebody suggest to clean the outside as well as the inside of the tank?

Go to your local radiator shop and get them to hot tank it, it will remove all the buildup on the inside and outside. Should cost you around 30 bucks.

on the subject of gas, anyone know where i might be able to dispose of some, the gas in my tank is over 2yrs old and im certainly not firing up the b16 on that shitty 87, so my q's are how can i drain such gas, and where can i get rid of it?

Pour it out in the yard.
Call around to the shops or parts stores, even oil change places, most of them will dispose of it for you for free.

Get a fuel cell. Since it's a project car not a daily driver, there's no reason why you'll need 12 gallons of gas at a time.

My gremlin had gas in the tank that sat for almost 10 years, it was lumpy, dont know if it would burn or not, smelled like it would, killed the grass beside my house quiet well.
