Hello i'm thinking of taking getting my engine rebuilt and was wondering if its really worth it. i feel kinda hesitant to take it to a shop cuz its hard finding someone to trust these days. i know this would be a long answer , but can someone please tell me what specific parts they rebuild and replace?

why rebuild it in the first place...is it worn out? are you burning a massive amount of oil and have serious blow by? in my experience its way cheaper just to get a used engine with low kms/miles on it. i rebuilt a d15b7 for about 1300 CAN ... which included almost everything ... oversize .20 .. new pistons .. rods ..bearings ...crank turned .. new oil pump .. water pump ..timing belt.. yadda yadda.

my engine is about to turn 200,000. Miles that is. now why waste my beautiful b18 for another swap, which would be a few thou for a new engine, and a few more thou for install. and its really hard just trusting an engine you know nothing about, and if it really has any problems. once its installed, ur screwed! so i'm thinking about freshening it up, what does anyone else think?

i say drive it until you have a problem with it ... but if ure gonna rebuild it ... i guarantee itll be more than a used engine including the install. the difference between you and i .. is that i rebuilt the engine myself = free labour. you're lookin at big bux to rebuild especially if you dont get wholesale on parts like i do.
