97% of the time when im at a stop light, i hit the trottle as much as it would normally take to get the car moving but nothing happens its kinda resisting, but then as soon as i push it a little harder wham im at 2K rpm's and the clucth isnt even out yet :frown: im gettin sick of this i feel pretty stupid, people look at me like im a "sped"
ive try'd adjusting the cable but it doesnt do much.
does the dx cable with mpfi have anything to do with it?
as alway's i apprecaite your help

("does the dx cable with mpfi have anything to do with it?")

yes the dx cable as you've probubly noticed it quite long. i did the swap and i had the opposite problem. when i came to light the engine would sometimes keep reving a little and i had to pull the throttle back with my toe, but after playing with the cable and finding the right adjustment it wasnt a problem.

do you mean the bolt's on the TB and manifold or the cable it self?
if so please post a pic showing how your cable is set up, if you can..

Where the cable meets with the throttle arm, you'll see two bolts. Loosen the one on the outside and then you can move the adjusting bolt on the inside. It's really simple. And once you've got it tight or loose, just let the bolt sit back in the little metal bar there and tighten the outside bolt back.

Almost sounds like your throttle cable is loose. Might need adjusting.

i know about that, ive tried adjusting but is doesnt do much, i think it does it because the cable is so long it has to curl up to fit, maybe it's getting stuck because of that. I wanted to know how he placed his cable

It should be an exact swap and fit. Actually, how is the cable running from the firewall to the throttle. I mean, it's long and on my DPFI, it's goes to the very front and loops and goes right back to the throttle body. How is laying in there exactly?

well the thing with the dpfi it makes a loop but goes in a stight line to the throttle arm, on the mpfi it has to make another SHARP turn to a parallel line to get to the throttle arm.

mpfi: -
i dont know if you inderstand what im trying to say..

I totally understand what your saying. What I'm asking is that the dpfi is longer and such and since the mpfi is meant for a shorter one, your using the dpfi one, it's longer and how is it laying in there. I mean if it's longer than intended, how is laying? That's all I'm trying to ask.

i routed my cable out of the firewall - over near the arm that holds up the hood- and a long loop to the left over to the trottle body

sounds to me like maybe your butterfly is stickin in the throttle body...my overbored t/b did that..take the t/b off and use brake cleaner to clean all the gunk away from the butterfly. i have the same set-up as you guys do with the throttle cable, make actually wraps around my master cylinder and then to the t/b.
