chevette died, won't come back to life

Two years ago, I let my friend borrow my chevette for a road trip, when he got back he said he changed the oil. I had parked the car and didn't drive it until winter. The car started fine, but I was only able to go about six feet, and it died, and hasn't started since. I later found out, that my friend had used SAE 30.
The chevette had done this before, not starting, and it was from not having enough oil in it. Something about a sensor switch.
Anyway, I was wondering if the reason it won't start is because of this switch. I have fuel and fire, but it just won't go. The same thing as before, except this time I have enough oil.
So, is there a bipass for the oil sensor switch? Or could it be because the oil pump went out from the cold SAE30???

The staright 30 weight oil wont hurt the engine at all . Did you check to see if it had jump time. This car has a timing belt in its engine. They ususly will strip a few cogs off the belt and stop the engine from running. This sounds like what happened if you started it and it died six feet later. Have it checked.

hey thanks. my last chevette did this, and the problem wasn't the timing belt, but instead, a piston shattered.
