Got offered to pick up a 87 mustang T-Top 2drwith 63k km on a replaced engine and tranny. The body has got only ronud 100 k km on it and is in farly decent shape despite a rotted out deck lid and some minor damage due to some more rust. 500 bucks. its got a little 4 cylinder engine in it and i was wondering what you guys might think about this particular model? How well does it preform, its numbers and improving them on a budget.. say 6 grand canadian? and last but not least would it be more worth it just to flip in a 5.0L and tune that up instead of this little engine-but weight is an issue.

I'd do the 5.0 drop in. Stay carb'ed it will save alot of wiring hassle.

I would definitely do it in a heartbeat, just because it's a T top 'Stang, and they are rare. Just be sure to use subframe connectors...

Racer Walsh has a lot of cool stuff for that 2.3 motor also, if you go that route.

i was thinking of droping in a nice 7.0L diesel just a few moments ago.. thers sure as hell is enough room and a 1000lb torque would get it off the line in a blink of the eye.. but would the frame be able to handle it?...
