I recently threw a rod in tha block of my rebuilt GSR motor, I paid a lot to have it rebuilt and I dont know what I should do. Should I part out my motor and get another LS to get running again or should I attempt to rebuild it again. Keep in mind Im a broke college student, without a lot to spend, and now performance isnt as much of an issue as it was before. I need to get around, but I do have a rep to keep. Should I just find an LS Block ? How much is Labor ? Anybody selling any parts I may need or want to buy parts from a beasted GSR ?

If the head is salvageable I would buy an ls block and go ls/vtec, it will be cheaper than buying a new motor, if you can do the work yourself. And it will be faster than both the gsr and ls engines.

i was just curious about the rpm, i thought u might have done somethin crazy and gone way past redline. ur block is most likely chipped tho... u never kno tho, maybe u were lucky. my friend threw a rod once and the piston actually got jammed into the block and the head was perfectly fine lol. block was badly chipped, crank was shot and a gaping battle wound in the oil pan which left plenty of blood on the street. how come u didnt use ARP rod bolts?
