This is the First car I've ever purchased, a brand spanking new 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix GT, I couldn't cough up the money for the GTP. Anyways I'm excited I got all these Ideas but I need some help. Is there anyone out there that can direct me to some information? I'm looking for maybe a service manual or some other book that is more extensive then the basic Haynes manual. I want to unlock some of the features that are hidden because it’s a GT without 5 button system and maybe mod some other things. For instance, compass, temperature and maybe even what I believe is possible GPS with the on star.
My biggest curiosity is the remote start. I have it on the vehicle and sometimes when I start it remotely the front and rear defrosters will come on by them self which is awesome in the cold, but like this morning when they were needed they did not. And I can't find any in the manual other then how to start it with the remote.
Any help will be greatly appreciated :thumbsup:

Well let's start you off with the service manuals;
http://www.sourcenet.ca:9001/servlets/Home
Now, don't lose this. Because if you play around with your car, GM won't fix it any longer.
Other Pontiac manuals;

And some parts;

Hope some of this helps. I know you will be hearing from some of the other guys.
Enjoy the new car.

Another Question for anyone. In my '05 grand prix i only have the onstar on my rear view mirror. I would like to get a compass. I saw that GM has mirrors with a compass, onstar and self dimming all in the mirror. i think its for cadillac.
Could i put that in my car? as in is the compass standalone or does it interface with computer some how (like setting it and all). does it just suck the power from the same onstar power that powers the mirror?
where normaly is the compass on an '05 GP?
Thanks!

You can add the mirror you talk about. It's in all kinds of GM cars and not just Caddys. Gentex is the company that makes them. You should be able to find one out of a wreck or even on Ebay. Just make sure to note what it came out of because you will have to get a new temp. sensor.

Donnelly is the company that makes the rearview mirrors for GM.Here is a link for them Click Here (http://www.rpminnovations.com/rearview_mirrors.htm)

These features available:
Compass - The eight-point self-calibrating compass automatically retains its accuracy as you drive. There's no other quite like it!
Temperature Indicator - Displays outside temperature in either Fahrenheit or Celsius.
Map Lights - Driver and passenger switch controls allow downward illumination without interfering with the driver's visibility
