Hello I have a 93 s10 chevy pickup with a 4.3L engine. My problem is my stereo positive amplifier cable melted and grounded itself to my engine block. As a result after replacing the wiring and battery I still have completly no power to the truck (no dome or dash lights etc)
Is there some kind of surge portecter or master fuse I can check?
Any help or comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Aaron

You should have had a inline fuse on your power wire and this wouldn't have happened.I see to many people put amps in their cars and never have a inline fuse on the power wire. Then to make it even better people decide to run the power wire through the door jamb.Which then results in a meltdown.ALWAYS have a inline fuse on your power wire!Keep the fuse holder as close to the battery as you can.

Thanks for all the help guys, thats about what I had in mind.
The cable was fused, the part that melted was between the battery and inline fuse. I would never even consider not fusing any of my electronics
