Positive cable grnding to engine

Hello I have a 93 s10 chevy pickup with a 4.3L engine. My problem is my stereo positive amplifier cable melted and grounded itself to my engine block. As a result after replacing the wiring and battery I still have completly no power to the truck (no dome or dash lights etc)
Is there some kind of surge portecter or master fuse I can check?
Any help or comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Aaron

you may have fried your computer, check all fuses (pain in the ass i kno) and if all of them are good time to check for bad computers

check the power going both to and from the fuse box too, I've seen more than 1 fried fues box in the past.

You should have had a inline fuse on your power wire and this wouldn't have happened.I see to many people put amps in their cars and never have a inline fuse on the power wire.Then to make it even better people decide to run the power wire through the door jamb.Which then results in a meltdown.ALWAYS have a inline fuse on your power wire!Keep the fuse holder as close to the battery as you can.

The cable was fused, the part that melted was between the battery and inline fuse. I would never even consider not fusing any of my electronics
