Hey guys im just curious on the stats of a 92 mustng 4banger regarding the 4cyl motor. How much power did it put out n what was the fuel economy. Im buying this car and im just wondering what i can expect to get power n mpg wise when i drive it.


ps. dont worry i plan on throwing a 302 in there. ;)

save time and stress and buy an 8 banger

Why stop at a 302? Slap a Windsor in it, since you're swapping the entire driveline...

Not sure on HP numbers, but my old '83 ranger witha carb'ed 2.3 and a 4 speed manual did pretty good. It had a big hole at 1/8 tank of gas, so I could never fill it over that, and I'd drive 70-80 miles on that 8th of a tank. (~2 gallons).

the reason why im not buying a 8cyl right off the bat is insurance reasons. I can pay 100 a month wit the four banger or i can pay 275 a month with the V8. Plus i wanna say i built the engine myself so.

you can say you built the engine yourself with anything you go with. 302, 351, 460, etc. but it will be your every day car so id stay at a 302.
