Wheel Hop

I have an 02 1.8T GTI that i just purchased that will not stick to the ground at all in first gear....all it does is hop if i give it any amount of gas...i basically have to feather it the whole way through the gear. The dealer told me when i bought it that the kid who traded it in said it had over 300 hp, but i'm not sure if that is true or what mods it has....it is fast though, beats most v6's and v8's from a 30 mph start. It is lowered, full catback exhaust and an intake system. Please help w/ this as i do not want to break anything and would like to be able to race from a dead stop all out!

new dogbone mounts can help get rid of wheel hop forge makes them as well as ecs tuning. but just so you know, the mounts will add more interior vibration to the car. the stiffer the insert the more vibrations you will feel. eip also makes a new mount instead of just the inserts. i just bought that mount and am going to install it soon, so i will have to see how that works out before i can comment on that.

The dogbone mounts help temendously because VW uses a weak rubber bushing. A new dogbone mount and engine mount almost fully eliminates wheel hop!

look into getting a g-tech, so u can tell us what it will run to 60 and in the quarter. that will show if it really has 300, but i think the mounts are a good idea.
