I want to know what winter is like in other areas of the country/world so that after i graduate, i can move there. Last night in Grand Forks, it was a record-setting -39F actual temp. I don't know about the rest of you guys, but i think that is a little cold! There was a town just to the east of GF that was -43F last night. I need to move out of here...i hate cold weather!!

40 below??? umm... damn? That's like a hundered degrees difference between outside and inside!

Well to put it into perspective, if you stand outside for more than 15 minutes, any exposed skin will get frostbite. Also if you boil water and throw it into the air while it is still very hot, it will evaporate or freeze before it hits the ground...no liquid water will land on the ground!! Thats cold and plus add on some wind and you have some fun!!

It's mid 20s today C. Light wind, clear blue sky.
In another few weeks it should heat up a bit and stay consistantly between 25-40 C for about 2 months.

Phoenix....also unseasonably cold right now. It only got into the high 50's today. Funny thing about living in the low desert, though- even on just slightly warmer days, the sun is intense enough(there isn't much in the way of winds) it becomes tshirt weather.

Same with Texas, Christmas Eve it snowed and we had degrees in the 40's during the day for a while. Today and all last week as well, mid 70's. Tonight it dropped to 40's again. Then tomorrow 50's, then back to 70's by the weekend.

whats all your guys' overall climate like? for daytime highs in my parts we usually see mid to high 30F's once or twice during the year and 102F or 103F once, maybe twice. Every few years we will see daytime highs as low as the upper 20F's, was like that last year for a bit. I'd say Oregon has about 2 and a half seasons.

I like the cold. I like it better when it's in the 20s and Teens or colder. I used to hate the cold because I would always freeze my scrawny butt off. Now that I got fat I sweat so much in the summer I can't wait for winter.

We have soo much snow that I had no school today. I have yet to get stuck with my car in the snow. With about 6-8 inches of snow on the ground, I was still able to get out of my unplowed subdivision with my lowered CRX. The front bumper was acting as a snowplow though.

It just snowed here today, so it's cold. Thanks for the offer Oz, if I ever get around to going to Australia I'll tell you. My friends were in Byron Bay last I heard and they said they were having a great time so I'll have to find my own way down there some day.

SluttyPatton - some of my pommy backpacker mates drove up yesterday. And a whole lot of mates have just been for 2 weeks. Byron is pumping!
About 30 C here lately. Would much rather -15 and some decent snow. But I kind of like all seasons for what they have to offer. ;)
