Hi all, I have 79 Pontiac TransAm and it is leaking water off of the starter. Where do you think it could be leaking from.
The starter is located almost under the Driver.
Someone please help this is my girl friends pride and joy.

I was about to say, unfortunately it sounds like a head gasket. It might be a freeze plug in the back of the head or block, but definitely clean it up real well and see exactly where it is coming from off the block. It would be best to put it in the air when looking for this after its clean if you have access to a lift.

dagrck74,
You e-mailed me and I tried to respond. I got the failure to deliver notice. Either something wrong with the return address or the e-mail account is dead. I didn't ignore you.
I'm of the opinion, if it's the 400 Pontiac engine, the expansion plug behind the starter, or the one in the end of the head (as creepingdeath94 said), is leaking. If it's the Olds 403 engine, it could be that, OR the head gasket. We rarely see the head gaskets leak externally on the Pontiac, but have seen a few with the Olds.
