shift problems

I have noticed recently that my 98 gtp shifts harder than it used to. It isn't much different but enough to notice. I have read a lot of people saying they had their transmission rebuilt when this started happening but I'm not sure if it is necessary since there isn't much of a difference. I was wanting to get my transmission flushed but my car has 116,000 mi on it and I don't think it has ever been flushed (I bought it with 80,000 mi on it). The general consensus is not to flush it over 100,000 mi. Anyone have any suggestions or ideas? I have an extended warranty on my car but I haven't checked to see what all it covers yet. Thanks for any help.

This may sound too simple to seem like a problem, but have you checked the transmission fluid level? Low tranny fluid levels cause harder shifting. Check it out. As far as flushing the tranny goes, that's a matter of opinion. Flushing the tranny only has positive effects for the transmission itself.......so as far as the miles on it, i don't think it really matters. I seriously doubt that flushing a transmission with over 100,000 miles on it will result in any detremental effects.......But as i said, that's simply a matter of opinion. But check the fluid levels first...if it's good, then maybe call a local tranny shop and ask their opinion on flushing or rebuilding with the miles on the tranny. Good luck, cheez......
