Hey everyone, does the brand name of the headlights matter? Are some better than others cuz I've heard incidences of the headlights melting wires. I'm looking at a pair of Brius H4's. Anyone heard of them?

I've heard that PIAAs are overrated. I've never tried them myself, but its what I've heard. Someone mentioned that the StreetGlow brand was good...personally I dont care, just something thats different that the ugly ass yellowish halogens

Yea but PIAA is also like 40-50$. The brius's im looking at are 12$. lol They say that they're really bright and that what I want but just wanna make sure that it wont melt my wires.

my PIAA's are as close to HIDS as your going to get.....the color is so much nicer and way brighter...ultimately you get what you pay for.

My friend had a set of Brius headlights. They weren't very bright and blew out in 4 months. :(

hahaha oopz, i meant wont melt my wires. They blew out in 4 months? Damn, there goes that. How about EuroLite brand? They have it on Group Buy Center for 12$ too. They any good?

JayFidizzy
03-08-2002, 12:38 AM
i'll say it one more time...you get what you pay for.....oh and do yourself a favor incase if you don't know...DO NOT touch the bulb whatsoever.

The reason why some people melt their wires is because they use the higher wattage bulbs like 100/80 or whatever that draws more heat and heat melts those poor bastards

sylojai
03-08-2002, 12:45 AM
haha yea i know, when i had to replace my first bulb in the car, the sales person told me like 19 times.

ok ok u made ur point, get what u pay for, i'll shut up now...lolz :D

hey u in nyc too? u know about doing the mods urself? maybe we can be civic buddies......i need friends that are into this whole import scene......all my friends now are just like its a waste of money

i've just started dropping some new goodies in....this last week i installed
1- a K&N Typhoon short ram cold air intake (nice sound a pick up for a decent price)
2- a DC Sports Short Shifter
3- BMW M3 Style Sideview mirrors
4- Reverse Indiglo Gauges
5- Titanium Bezzele
6- Indiglo Pedals (in progress)
7- Type R Mesh Front Grill
8- PIAA Bright White Lights.

Its easy once you get the hang of it.

Yea man you should just get some bulbs that match your wattage. I THINK the oem ones are 55 watt right? Dont get those high wattage 100/80!! Personally I WOULDN'T spend the money on PIAAs...I've got my cheap bulbs and I couldn't be happier! Well good luck!

yep you get what you pay for so stop buying hid like bulbs and get a hid system you wont ever have to worry about them burning out agian and they run cooler use less energy... but they cost about 400 but thats the route im taking when i feel like it

JayFidizzy
03-08-2002, 01:09 AM

hey those Stage II HIDs are tight! $750 though!:o Bro I know a couple of distributers that take care of about 4 shops down here in S. Fla, one of them being Dynamic Turbo, and they get the HIDs real cheap! :flipa: Wish I had that kinda hookup...kinda looking for real HIDs for my projectors but they told me the H3 HID bulb is too long and it'll hit the projector lens...has anyone put HID's on their projectors?!

How does your typhoon compare? I am AEM guy. I have an AEM short ram on the way. WHAT kind of sound and performance are you gettin out of your typhoon?

JayFidizzy

I noticed a big diffrence in engine noise....anything above 3500 has a nice hum to it. As far as power gain I notice more of a diifrence in the 5000 - 7000 range....my car would feel sluggish now it opens up more. I paid 150 for mine and i'm fully satisfied

i used streetglow and hyper brand and nokya.
streetglow was nice but i don't think it lasted that long .. but my three different sets of hyper bubs (the cheapest and easily available) one blew out in a couple of months... and so did another, but the ones i have now have been in there for a long time.. and they are H4 and they melted my harness and not my wiring. i can't even pull the harness off!! anyways H4 is for fog light systems and 9006 is for regular headlights... i am in the progress of making new headlight harnesses that will hopefully draw more power to the headlights...and not melt any wires..

 When I had to change my first bulb, the guy gave me two different size bulbs but they didnt fit, it wasnt until the third try that I showed him my old bulb that he saw it was an H4 bulb. Im assuming H4 meant the size of the bulb because he gave me a H7 prior to that and it was too small.

iLLuCiv99:
How does the light pattern of your projectors compare to stock? Driving-wise, are they worth it?
I have been fighting my stock lights since the day I bought it, I drive to fast to see what is in front of me. Don't want to buy expensive driving lamps that someone will just steal from the grill.

Anyone else have a good experience with headlight complete replacements and their performance, please reply.
