Struts for 1998 Chevy Malibu

I have a 1998 Chevy Malibu. We put some KYB Gas Struts on it a couple of weeks ago and it rides 100 times worse than it did with the old struts that were on it that were bad. The problem I am having is that the steering goes away when you go into a corner fast. Could this be a result of the lower ball joint being bad?

describe more what you mean by steering goes away. KYB's need a little longer it seems to break in, your probably thinking it rides 100 times worse because they aren't broken in and ride like rocks.

Hey dwalmop - you saying that after some miles the KYB struts will settle down? I am thinking of some Monroes for my car (99Bu). Also, do strut failure result in a feathering weradown of the outside edge of the tires? And how do you manage to post 317 in a little over 3 months!
