My wife currently has a 1994 Pontiac Sunbird LE, with the overworked, super-dogged 2.0L engine. I would like to know, what is there that I can do to make this engine more powerful? I have ordered a drop in K&N filter for it, and cleaned out the fuel system, changed the plugs, wires, and thermostat. It hardly has any get up and go. Would an exhaust system be good?
how plausible is it to take the Turbo manifold and turbo from a GT and swap it onto the standard 2.0 engine, and just run it at a low boost, say maybe 4-5psi? Just upgrade injectors and retard the timing a bit.
are there even any swaps out there that are available for this car? she loves it, and I hate the damn thing. its so slow and small.
plus, its an automatic.....

Check your cat, mine was plugged, I just took it off and beat the inside out.

and thats going to help get more power? just from gutting the cat? why not just remove it and replace it with straight pipe. we don't have emissions testing here in Kansas.

Cam, Coil packs, Turbo *I am considering one from a GT too.* 5 Speed. You should be able to grab the cam out of a GT engine. It should be larger and there for give a bit more power.
Take your exhaust system and Straighten it out as best you can and if your allowed in your area... no Cat or High flow cat. Now if you take the cat out remember there is an EGR valve in there, you are gonna have to plug it.
Cancel your drop in K&N air filter order and order the typhoon kit or a warm air intake kit.
Synthetic Oils will help too.
Or you could skip all this and do an engine swap but thats above me.
hehe and if you trust her Nitrouse... but rebuild the engine first :D.
Port and polishing too
*I am just doing this off the top of my head*
Thats all I can think of right now

Well I get my stuff From Lodco cause I get a 35% Discount there. I am in canada so I do not know what the US has but Lodco also takes care of their customers and you KNOW your getting the right product.
I would be installing one of those my self but instead I have an idea in my little mind for mech class :D.
