Weird Backfiring

I own a 1998 oldsmobile intrigue and just recently started having problems with backfire and a really rough idle i figured the timing was off anyone have a suggestion for me?

Possible crankshaft position sensor? Check any rubber boots near the throttle body and airflow sensor for rips, holes, or just being loose.
