NEED advice from ROMANTIC people!!!!!!

ok this is the deal. imma ask my beautiful girlfriend to marry me. i have it planned to go to atlantic city (casino's for those who dont know) and we are having dinner there also. not sure if dinner will be first or last thing we are gonna do. but this fri is when we are going and i have the ring and imma ask her that day. so i need some help from the romantic people on how i should do it. i know it should be from what i think i should do and from my heart but i need to know what you guys or girls would do. thanks!

What sort of person is she? And what are you comfortable with?

If she is really shy, something large and public is likely to embarrass her, whereas if she's outgoing, she will probably be flattered.

Make sure the scene is suited to your girlfriend's personality. And definitely make dinner the last event of the night ;)

Make it sweet and romantic...Personally I wouldnt want it in like a crowded place...In public is ok...but not crowded. Make it meaningful, and say something sweet. Depending on the weather, I hear its nice over there...try taking her on the beach. The boardwalk is dead this time of year but I'm sure you can find somewhere nice to do it. I dunno....I don't know how I want to be asked, but it doesnt matter as long as its from the heart.

Hmm...my idea. Book the Honeymoon Suite of one of the best hotels in your city for the night. At the end of the evening - desert for example, get the kitchen to organise something special ahead of time. Maybe bring out the ring on her desert?

Anyway, after she gets over the shock and emotion and calms down (2 hours min. - go somewhere and talk), tell her what you have booked.

AC isnt like that...the casino's are real nice and the boardwalk can be interesting, but not in January... I'm sure you'll come up with something good.

Put the ring somewhere like a camera case and ask her to get the camera out, shell open it and the ring is sitting there then say something sweet like, hey if i didnt love you would i have spent thousands on a freakin ring?

On the boardwalk, leaning on the rail looking out at the ocean (day or night) your arm around her, just talking and hanging out. Whip a flower out and give it to her. Then tell her that's not enough and ask her.

The city of AC away from the casinos is actually a shithole. Getting lost around there is not exactly good or too safe.

I would go to a secluded, fancy restaurant way off on the patio or something...don't go cheap!! I would treat her like a princess and when you get desert or near the end of the meal...have the ring ready and pop the question or have the waiter in on the whole thing. Have the waiter ask "Did you drop this" and hand it to her...then ask her. Think of something clever. GOOD LUCK!!! and congratulations in advance!!

I think that ideas cool with the whole waiter thing but the "did you drop this" line is kind of lame. When she orders dessert, he could always bring the ring out on a tray instead of her dessert?

Take her somewhere she absolutely loves, and make sure it is somewhere that requires walking. As you are walking, stop to tie your shoe, and while you are down, call her over and pull out the ring. Presto:smile:.

Another idea would be to rent a tux and go to where she works. Walk in with some flowers and just propose. Would probably be a good idea to call her boss ahead of time to make sure everything would be ok.

Honestly if the girl loves you enough, I don't think it will matter where you propose, although if you do it poorly she will hold it against you until you die. Personally, there is a restaurant around where I live with a top floor patio that overlooks the ocean, and that is where I would propose, on a warm summer day while the sun is going down. I think if you try something too fancy you might end up looking foolish. Just be yourself, and do it how you think it should be done. It might not be a bad idea to propose where you first met, depending on where that is (if it was prison it might not work so well). Good luck with operation shock and awe.

The wrıtıng ın the sand ıs genıus...I was thınknıng the same thıng and pıckle has a good ıdea tooonly thıng ıs youd want to gıve ıt to the waıter lıke rıght before so you not worrıed whether he los ıt or not...

well heres my :2cents: and this come from a guy who recently asked my girl the question. what i did is on x-mas eve her and i and my family went out to a nice restaurant and ate, after diner we went to the rotary lights which is like over a million x-mas light display and i got the 2 of us a horse drawn carrige ride through the park(it was freazing so we were cuddle up) and half way through i asked the carrige driver to stop and i took my then gf up onto the stage in the middle of the park and asked her there.

My brother just asked his gf last night...this is how he did it. They went to the restaurant where they first met and then they were supposed to go for a walk through this park nearby. Even though its cold, the lights and such are spectacular. So they were walking through but it started to rain, she wanted to go back to the car but he said come on. They ended up running to the gazebo where he had candles and rose pedals on the floor and an envelope with her name on it and she opened it and on the inside it said "Heidi, I love you with all my heart and it would make me the happiest man in the world if you'd answer this question for me." Then she looked at him and he was on his knee holding the ring and then he asked her to marry him. It was the SWEETEST THING! He had hidden a video camera in the gazebo thats how I know all of that stuff....Just a suggestion

I always invisioned my proposal to get her a big box, fill it with weights, and papper, and wrap it, then when she opens it there will be a card, that says "it's the little things that make the differance", then say "oh, I must of forgot to put it in", then hand her the ring.

I dunno, just something comical to break it, so I don't have to go nuts over it, but it still romantic!
