Fast Idle after installing SRI

Ok, so I went and installed my AEM SRI today and my car now acts as though I have a vacuum leak (in first gear the engine revs up to 1200 rpm's and then after I put it back into park it keeps jumping between 2000 and 700 rpm's). I was wondering if this was a common problem with SRI's and CAI's.

no i havent heard of that being common, just double check that all vacuum lines are connected properly

I did check the hoses and everything seems to be fine. There was one line that ran to the air inlet pipe which I plugged with the rubber grommet that was provided. That was the only thing that was changed on the throttle body other than connecting the new pipe. The instructions do not mention that line for my specific car but did mention that other cars needed to have it plugged. I assumed it was the thing to do since it mentioned it should be done for other cars (an oversight perhaps).

try unplugging it, that may cause the problem.... there wasnt a spot on ur SRI for that line??

Try resetting your ECU - disconnect the battery for about 10 mins then reconnect, start it up and let it re-learn your car with the the new intake (usually takes a few minutes of driving around).

Greenblurr was right. I shouldn't have plugged that one line up. Thanks for all your help.

Just curious - what did you do with the open vacuum hose that you unplugged? Is it still open or did you find something to connect it to?

I just left it open. I'll keep a close eye on the car to see if anything new pops up becuase of it.
