Cabin Filter?? HELP!!! 98 Z71

Where are these??
I just took off the kickplace that is between the center floor vent and the blower motor and didn't see any filter(s).
Putting it back was a BITCH!!!!
Am I just missing these or are they somewhere else?
Is it a two piece kickplate? (upper and lower)
I did see the heater core (I think that's what it was) at about a 35-40 degree angle, but no filter.

I looked at different sites and all the pics for changing these are from 1999>newer.

The filters I bought are from Wix.

Truck is a 1998 GMC 1500 Z71 EC
