i'm thinking of getting a 80 series muffler for my camaro, and was wondering how much it should cost. meineke said they could put it on for 250 no more than 300 $. becuase they have to buy the part and install. or should i buy it then take it to a shop and have it installed. is that a fair price. how much did you guys pay.

I bought mine off ebay for a reasonable price and took it to a local shop to have them put it on. Total I think it cost me around $250-$300 for parts and install. I personally think it's too much work to do exhaust, plus some of that shit you can't weld on without making some pretty harmful gasses.

i dont have any welds on my exhaust, get some stainless steel exhaust clamps, and put the muffler on yourself.

I My exhaust is all welded and I also have a 80'sFlowmaster, To be honest I like the security that nothing can come loose but hey I am sure the clamps work great and if you welding skills are not up to par and can not afford to have it done go ahead and use the clamps.

Clamps cause leaks.

I have an 80's series flow on and at the same time I had the guy put 3" pipe from the cat all the back to the 80's series then 3" out of the 80's series to the 3 and a half inch chrome slash tips. Looks and sounds awsome. Its the throatiest LT1 I've ever heard without headers. You should get the same set-up it only cost me like 325 for everything installed. Well worth it.

do ur clamps leak. I am looking into a muffler and would like to do it myself but our welder is a piece of crap. so i pretty much cut and clamp right?
