I have 127k on my car. and outside of engine issues and needing strut replaced its fine.

service eng soon lite comes on from time to time and its very costly to have it hooked up to diagn. at garage where i go. can autozone ck diagnostics for me for free??

what happens is the car idles at a lite or stop sign but feels like its going to stall out. if i put it in neutral its ok but back in drive it FEELS like it will stall. the steering wheel is where i feel the shaking a lot from idleing engine. i look at RPM and it its at below 1 rpms . 1 time it actually went down to 0 rpms at a lite but the car was still running. so who knows if its due to being old and things are just malfunctioning or its really messed up. this engine crap though, i dont have tons of money to fix it, but its only car i have. and i actually like my car. it handles great. im not getting any good gas mileage at all either.

i had the mechanic i use hook up diag test before and he said nothing came up. so i dont know whats going on.

should plugs be replaced? can i do that myself?

any ideas or help?

and if it is a bad sensor, shouldnt it be replaced?

Bad gas mileage? Change your O2 sensor. Also, your intake may have carbon build-up. Get some seafoam cleaner, or GM top engine cleaner (from the dealer), and let your intake suck it in through a vacuum hose.

For the stalling issue, you may have a vacuum leak. Also there is an issue with the injectors for 91-93 gm v6 engines, that has been reported to cause a stall. I have read several posts where injectors have been replaced with 96+ injectors, and the problem disappears.

...hmmm, maybe clean your intake air control solenoid?

(that's all I can think of right now....)

you could always try some fuel injector cleaner your fuel injectors could be starting to clog up and its spraying in diffrent directions WHICH(1. WILL FILL UP UR CHAMBER TILL IT FLOODS OUT..2. BAD GAS MIL. 3.. LACK OF POWER ON THE START. 4 WILL BOG OUT OF AND ON. AND IF NOT THE PROBLEM TRY THE 02 SENSOR.. IT WOULD NOT BE YOUR PLUGS/WIRES YOU WOULD HAVE A SLIGHT MISS TO THE MOTOR DEPENDING ON HOW BAD THEY ARE) :)

You can check for the codes by accessing the serial port underneath the dashboard, on the right side (above the gas pedal). Take the cover off and you'll see two contacts in the upper right corner. Jump them with a paper clip. Turn the ignition on but DON'T START THE ENGINE! Soon as you turn the ignition on, the SES light will start blinking. Pay atention to it. At first, it will blink once - pause - then twice. That's a code 12 and it's a self-diagnostic code. After three code 12s, you'll be able to see the error codes. For example, if it blinks 4 times - pause - then 3 times, it's a code 43 (knock sensor). Write down all the fault codes. If a code 12 is shown again, remove the paper clip and turn the ignition off.

I'd like to help but I want to know what codes you get first. There are a lot of things that cause your problem but let's see what the computer says. Keep us posted.
