Sup guys im suppose to get my tune up done this Sat. My dads cool with a dealership because he works on their lifts and compressors. Anyway he found a guy that will do it on his own time and and he's worked on our cars before. He needs 6 hours and hes chargin $175 for the job. Not sure where im gettin my parts yet but im guessing for that it will be about $400. So estimate total tune ups gonna be about $500-600 bucks. I read the FAQ about prices but just wanted any input i think im getting a really good deal because i've heard if a dealership does it it can be like around 1,000 or more. Also input what you guys paid if you've had it done. Also since its an older car and they lose some HP think ill feel a diff after the tune up? If not its cool just want to make sure everything runs fine. Thx.

175 for labor on the 60k/120 tuneups is a GREAT deal. its about an 8 hour job, and at a conservative labor rate of $50/hr, that would run you $400. even for 6 hrs would be $300. but dealership labor rates are at least $60-$70, if not more. so you're getting a good deal.

$400 is a conservative estimate for parts, however it depends on what parts you get, and where you get them from. I did the 60k tuneup myself (check my Sig), and the parts only cost me $300. got them from www.thepartsbin.com, they give ya free shippin on orders over $50. good place to get parts from.

all in all, its sounds like you're getting a good deal.
