So about 4 months ago I replaced the pulse wiper board, and now everytime I turn on my wipers they work great, however when I turn them off the stop like halfway in the middle of my windsheild. How do I fix this? Thanks!

Never heard of it before?

Not really.

Is this when the engine is running right?

Yeah, it happens when I use the washer fluid or when it is raining, I have to get out of the truck and push them back down.

Sounds liek the replacement is defective also.

So it is the pulse board that sets the home position for the wipers?

Did you get the correct board. There are 2 types.

I think I did, but I dont know because I bought it off ebay, because the Cheyv Dealer wanted 90 bucks for it.

I'm sure you would have noticed but I'll throw this out there: I had a Cherokee that did the same thing, what I found out was that one of the mounting bolts for the wiper motor had broken so at some point instead of the wipers returning the motor would shift in place. It didn't make as much noise as you would think so the only way I could tell was to physicaly check it.

See whats wierd about mine is it will do the regular motion, stop in the middle, then go all the way back down again, and go through the entire motion again. I also thought it may be the wiper motor, and I made sure that all the bolts were holding it on very securely.

I replaced mine with a new NAPA unit ($27.50 list, plus ~$4.50 core) about 6 months ago.
Unfortunately, I threw out the instructions, but I recall a blurb about having the blades positioned in the complete rest/off position when you install the new board, otherwise the blades will stop at some unknown position.

As you look at the top side of the board, there's a circular copper ring that makes contact with an arm from the motor housing. Either your motor is bad, the blade position is off when the board was installed, or the copper ring has a bad spot on it.
Good Luck,
Mike

Edit,
Also make sure to seal the board housing to the motor with some type of sealant/RTV. You may be getting a shorted contact due to moisture inside the assembly.

So if you buy a new motor to fix the issue with the wipers not working you still have to buy and install a new board? I would have thought the new motor had a new board in it already.

Napa sells a motor with the pulse board (List $90.00, Rayloc, remanufactured?). They don't list just the motor.

I only checked at Napa because there's a store 2 blocks from where I live.
The closest Auto Zone, Pep Boys, etc, is about 7 miles away, so Napa gets the majority of my business for convienience.

You must live in the city if 7 miles is far. I have to go 7 miles to find a convenience/gas station. Add another 5 to that and I can reach the grocery, department and autoparts stores. And I thought I had it easy...

No, 7 miles to the next town (which has an Autozone). BTW, I searched the Autozone web site, they list a re-manufactured motor for $79. They don't list a pulse board separately, so I'll guess the board comes with the motor.

7 miles isn't far, but I do walk a bit ('97 Blazer, 35k miles)

I used to bike a lot of places but not since I moved to the top of a mountian.

You've got my S-10 beat, it's an 86 w/108k. Damn my Maxima for breaking down, I put over 8k on the truck in 2004.

Actually I got it for $24.00 and change. I get a 10% discount thru my employer. (Either that, or they like all the Blazer parts I buy from them)
Don't forget to bring a core unit with you if this is what you decide to do.
