Can anyone tell me how to pull the factory stereo from my 01 Grand Cherokee?
I'm installing a sirius sportster and would like to hardwire it instead of using the built-in FM transmitter.
Any tips would help.

Im not exactly sure how to do it on a 2001, but I have a question for you, how do you plan on installing sirius sportster directly to the 2001 head unit? I have a 2001 unit in my 96 GC now and am looking to install a sportster to my car, I have been trying to figure out whether to use the FM modulator or the tape, I didnt know there was another option???Thanks!

Initially I thought there was an aux input on the back of my factory stereo, but now I'm not so sure. There should be a jack for the cd changer.

The 01 head unit, may have a cd changer control, but i am not sure if you can use it for a sirus turner or not, I have reworked the audio system in my jeep, and i do not think it is possible, but i am not sure how to do it. they do make units that adapt so that you can add accessories, the best place for this is crutchfield. The part name is USA Spec adapters. they ususally run about 60 bucks in crutchfield

I don't have an answer to your question, but when I installed a Sirius setup in my 1993 Jeep GC, I had no signal. Eventually found that the alarm system was preventing the signal.
