I have installed a new battery 2 days ago as the other died for no reason. Today I have had some electrical problems. eg. When the engine is at idle the climate control display disappears, when the engine speed is higher the display and other features work normally. The radio can come and go and if you put the hazard lights on the display can go out on the climate control but the display will stay on if the airconditioner is not operating and you are using fan only setting.
Does this mean the alternator is malfunctioning? (the battery light has not lit up on the instrument panel.)
How can I do a quick test on the alternator?

Engine running, the alternator pumps voltage up. Take multimeter and compare engine on/off on battery terminals. Good battery 12.5V or more, engine off. Engine on, 13.8V to 14.25V depending if u have north/south specs regulator.
Battery is 1/1000 part of a system. Take a look and recondition u wirings and add alt grounding as it is not probably connected well enough.
