I have the opportunity to buy a 1994 metro 1.0 auto. I can pick it up for about 400 bucks. The car has about 135,000 miles. It has been having some problems running. I did a compression test and got 160psi on all three cylnders. I haven't had a chance to check anything else out. My brother in law owns the car. It died in the middle of an intersection so he pushed it off the road into a parking lot and went and bought a new car.

even if the motor is trashed it sounds like its not a bad price and you could buy a new japanese motor and not be out more than 7-800 dollars.Personally
i would buy it

Sounds like a good deal to me. The little Geo can last a long time if you do regular maintenance consistently and change the oil without fail. Also depends if you have a good mechanic that you trust to handle the hard stuff.

upstate NY eh? come buy my 350 Firebird..it gets good gas mileage! ;) If you've only got around $500, then i'd personally go for a cheap Civic, more reliable...Geo's fall apart from what i've seen. But either way it's not a bad deal.
