hey guys, im about to buy new filter for my RS but just decided to ask if bigger filter will work better or worse or it doesnt really matter? I have cold air intake, and another question is: if i'll put bigger filter is it going to help reduce chances to get water into engine ?
Thanku for any help

I would say just buy what you are supposed to buy. it has been engineered like that for a reason. as for a bigger filter reducing water in the engine, i dont really think it would become a factor. i suppose that if you use a bigger filter, there is more surface area for area to get "caught". but i am sure it is not necessary

the only way water is going to get into the filter is if your stupid and floor it ALOT while driving in huge puddles.

If you have a bypass valve you really don't have to worry about water at all.

Bypass valves are useless unless the entire filter is under water. so if there is a little bit of filter out of the water the bypass valve dosent work. so the only situation i can see a bypass valve working is when the water level is up to the top of your tire and your sitting there stomping the throttle ????. so yeah bypass valves are pointless because the entire filter will never be under water and if it is the water level would already be too high and why would you be driving through it to begin with?
