1st time to track, need help!

Whats up everyone I just bought a 96' Talon TSi AWD. And i am going to the track this saturday. But this will be my first time to the track. I dont want to look stupid in front of my friends, so can someone give me steps on how to race? I know that sounds pretty bad. But we all have to start somewhere and i dont want to wreck or trash a beautiful piece of art like this. So can someone help a brotha out. thanks a bunch guys. I just need to figure out how to start off the line and when to switch gears. I get switch gears pretty smooth. but i could really use alot of tips. I know a old abandoned road i can practice on too this week. so again, thanks alot guys.

How long have you been driving? Is it a stock TSI? Do you have a lot of experience driving a manual tranny? I think we could use more information about the driver.

i have been driving for about a year and a half. i know how to use manual tranny great. I shift smoothly and haven known since i was about 13 i think. Yea it is the stock AWD Tsi.
