Check Engine light with P0421 ...???

I drive a 2000 V6 GLX 4Motion with ~60K miles.

A few days ago the Check Engine light came up with "Emissions Workshop" in the display. I went to AutoZone and had an ODB 2 tool hooked up. Result: 2x P0421 (Warm Up Catalyst below threshold) :confused:

Can anyone help me understand what that is and what it will mean in $$ at the dealer or if this is something I can do (or have an exhausts shop, like Meineke's do)?

Could be a catalytic converter (7yr 70k miles vw warranty) Vw dealer has to do a special catalyst test sheet to determine if the cat is faulty. (75% time it is bad w/ that code) If the test comes up negative, they need to test the temp of the cat at 3k rpms.

sounds like it has to go to the deal no matter what, huh?
