remote start/alarm installation

What do you guys think about self installing an remote start unit? About the only installation experience I have is with with installing some for lights. I don't want to end up spending ridiculous amounts of money just on installation.

Also, what do you guys think about a $120-150 auto start/alarm combo system? Thanks.

Its a lot of wiring but with patience and good instructions......i think its worth it....but check out the other forum unbreakable...you can get some good ideas in there.
