I've been a lurking here from time to time; nice forum you guys have, and DEFINITELY informative; and free from the usual message board drama.

I've seen a lot of rare pictures here, but have never seen anyone post this picture of a road car with the HDF kit. I got it from some message board (forgot which one) years ago. I believe the story behind it is the photographer shot this on his way to a Ferrari event in Europe.

I have a request for any of you with a huge library of Mclaren related images. Does anyone have more pictures from this set of photos? I believe the car belongs to Nick Mason, and I've seen several more pictures from this set, but have lost them.

that is Nick Masons F1 GTR, the pictures are from i think EVO magazine of a year or 2 ago.....interestingly, if i remember, this car has a rear-view camera to aid reversing.......

I've had that photo since March of 2003, shortly after it was taken. It's Tony Smith's chassis #020 leaving the 2002 Spa Ferrari Days in Belgium. I liked the shot, because it's rare to see an F1 moving down the highway, but I didn't like the neon green Pound Puppy (or whatever that is) on the dash, so I Photoshopped it out. Its not perfect as far as P-shopping goes, but I think it makes for a bit better photo this way.

As for the shots of Mason's F1 GTR from that EVO article, you have all the ones that I have. There are a few more than are smaller and have a 'supercarprints' watermark on them but they are fairly low quality. I can post scans of the article these shots come from which has a few other smaller photos as well. Let me know if you want it.

Welcome to the forum btw.

Peloton, I'd definitely appreciate it if you could scan the article, and thanks for the welcome.

BTW, I happen to like that puppy there. ;)

BTW, I know you have a reputation for having a vast knowledge of Mclarens as well as a good size library of images.....so, have you seen this one?

Yes, that's another shot I'm familiar with - I think either PJ_Steamboat or diabloroadster from SC.net took that shot. It's chassis #045, which at the time was owned by Seth Neimann, arriving at the 2002 Palo Alto Concours to be displayed by Bruce Canepa. For quite a while, we thought incorrectly that Canepa owned the car, but later learned the real story. Chassis #045 was one of the original 7 Ameritech F1s and has now changed hands once more, and is owned by Gary Schaevitz in New York.

Here's the scans of the EVO article on Mason's car. The first 6 pages are the comparison with the Edonis and the remaining three are a separate article just on his GTR.

Wait, so does that mean Canepa doesn't own an F1, and if so, when did we discover this? I don't recall Canepa's ownership status ever coming into question.

As long as this topic is here...These pics are new to me a few weeks ago (the last one looks familiar though)...

gerd had always told us that Canepa didn't own that car. I believed him, but not having the correct info always kept me referring to the car as the 'Canepa F1'. For a while I thought that Neiman's F1 was #012 but that proved incorrect as well. I don't really know when it all came together, but I think we've got it right now. #045 has had a busy life.

= = = = = =

Here's some photos that were new for me recently - they haven't been posted here before, so hopefully they are new for you too. The first is Carl Beal's #042 and the second one is Dan Kennedy's even more familiar #038 on a flatbed - though its quite blurry.

about the evo story, if you sign up at the evo site which is free of charge, then you can in the road test archive find the whole road test, and 6 pics, but also some with the edonis

Peloton25

You're correct that there are a total of 6 photos there, but the other two only contain the Edonis, so it might not be worth the effort if he's specifically looking for shots of Mason's GTR.

Salut Phil,

Does Miura1 have any F1 pics not yet shown in SCF forum?
I've got a collection of GTR pics that he has posted there, any more?
