Hi all. I have a 99 Rodeo LSE. my wiper arm has disengaged from the wiper motor. I see where the two are supposed to connect, but it seems it should "snap " into place or something (its like a ball joint). basically it wont stay put and I have no wipers. is this a common problem, and Am I missing something? oh yeah, IM TOTALLY MECHANICALLY CHALLENGED!
IT DID THIS BEFORE AND A mechanic BUDDY FIXED IT FOR FREE, BUT I DID NOT SEE WHAT HE DID. THANKS!MIKE

I have the same problem. I have a 2000 Rodeo. It does look like the arm should snap onto the ball joint. I had a mechanic friend look at it and he said you only need to replace the arm (the plastic part on the arm that is worn out is not sold separately). Since I didn't have time to fix it I took it to a dealer who has been fair to me in the past. They told me that the wiper transmission needs to be replaced and it will cost around $440 to fix. I'm taking it to a local mechanic for him to have a look at it. I'll let you know what I find out.

Apparently on my car the center pivot part of the ball joint is broken which is causing the arm to pop off. That part is only sold with the whole wiper transmission. The part costs about $75 but is back ordered. Junkyards are selling it for about $100 due to the demand.

I took mine to my local guy. He sais all he had to do was order the little plastic cup (the npart that the ball would fit into) from Isuzu. Hesaid it was abut five bucks, but I would have to wait for 5 days. Ill post as soon as it comes in if this is indeed all that was needed. Hopefully you can save a few bucks!!!!
